Washington D.C. – Physical Rehabilitation Network (PRN) is excited to be a part of the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) held in Washington D.C. this year from Jan. 23 – 26.

To stand out amongst the crowd, PRN sponsored the CSM Selfie Station, where individuals come to get their photos taken as a memento for attending the conference. During this process, participants are encouraged to compete in the PRN social media contest, as well as visit the PRN booth.

With an estimated 16,000 in attendance, PRN staff networked over the three-day event, to bring attention to PRN’s value-added services. In addition to one-on-one in the exhibitor hall, PRN partnered with PT Pub Night, and sponsored the Thursday night event.

The goal of PT Pub Night is to strengthen the physical therapy profession by creating opportunities for those related to the profession – from students and researchers to seasoned PTs – to meet, share ideas, discuss challenges and consider the future of PT as it relates to both patients and health care.

“As with any profession, it’s important to network and create relationships not just for professional opportunities, but to share the common experiences and challenges that transcend the walls of any specific clinic,” said Rob Pace, MS, PT, Sr. Vice President of Operations of PRN. “Such relationships are essential, and it’s from these PT networks that we can draw resources for inspiration and innovation.”

1300 people attended the PT Pub Night at Penn Social, a sports and game pub near the conference center, where funds were raised to help the mission of the Global Women’s Health Initiative (GWHI), a PT-driven nonprofit effort. For each person who checked into PT Pub Night a $1 was donated to the initiative.

“These casual gatherings are about more than just meeting up for a beverage and a bite,” said Tannus Quatre, a licensed physical therapist and leader of the creative team behind PT Pub Night efforts. “PT Pub Night’s function is to serve us – the physical therapy profession – by providing a connecting venue through which we develop real relationships with those around us, both locally and through the larger PT Pub Night community. Such relationships are catalysts for innovation, problem solving and progress.”
