The Pro Active team is truly world class. Back in January, I was unable to walk due to a severe back injury. Doctor's wanted to rush me to surgery, but I opted to double down on PT and non-invasive measures. Through my amazing PT (Abby) we worked over the course of 5+ months getting back to a place where I can now become field active again with the Search and Rescue team that I've been a first responder on the last 5 years. The entire team at Pro Active took the time to evaluate where I was at in my injury and put together a comprehensive plan that allowed me to build my strength back up and come out of it stronger than I was pre-injury. Everyday I left with a smile on my face, because the team makes PT FUN and everyday was full of good energy, good culture, good music, and challenging but attainable exercises. I can't stress how grateful I am to everyone on the staff for making me feel welcomed and never once making me feel like they were just trying to get me in and spit me out without feeling confident I was in a place where I could be ready to graduate. Thanks for supporting Search and Rescue and First Responders!

Great experience at Pro Active Physical Therapy. I had two knee replacements 12 weeks apart and have been seeing a physical therapist for six months. Nick was my primary therapist. He is encouraging, compassionate, and a good listener. He also worked me hard, which has led to my recovery. I also saw Ricky or Abby occasionally. They have a great team there and the therapists work together to provide holistic care. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

I have gone to Pro Active Physical Therapy for two knee replacements and a right shoulder issue. These physical therapists are exceptional! They listen, they give fantastic exercises for recovery, and they hold you accountable. I recommend them every opportunity I can. Abby, Ricky, and Nick are the BEST!!!!

This is a much overdue review. I was dealing with tendinitis for almost a year and tried everything: multiple podiatrists, acupuncture, orthotics, etc., but nothing was really working. The pain and limited mobility were affecting my mental health. Fortunately, my PCP referred me to Pro Active Therapy in Englewood because she heard that they were the best in town- she was spot on. The providers here were extremely skilled, patient, kind, and supportive through a 4 month recovery process. I healed so well that I was able to walk 8 to 10 hour days for a 2 week trip in Japan, something I wasn’t sure I was able to do prior to getting treatment. A bonus is the friendly and inviting vibe the staff has cultivated, and there were always plenty of laughs and fun music choices. I cannot recommend Pro Active Therapy enough!

I am starting with the reply at the bottom of this post. The owner left me a"oh I'm so sorry text". He said call me right away so we can see what we can do. Just wanted to let you know there is no owner at that phone number. This just further proves that this place only cares about money. I am a 66 year old female with lots of health problems. These problems were gone over with the physical therapist. Such as osteoporosis, broken bones, knee surgery, neck surgery and a host of GI surgeries. Now it's been 10 Days later and I cannot walk. Literally, I cannot walk. I am in so much pain that I can't sleep, I can't relax, I can't even think straight. I went to urgent Care across the street and they told me that my therapist had done a number on me. At least they offered me an anti-inflammatory which is supposed to help. Nothing else for the pain, can't even take Tylenol. I Called Ricky, the physical therapist and he showed no empathy for me. After I canceled the appointment he kept calling me to tell me I needed to go in. I drive a car with a clutch and I couldn't even press my left leg down on the cut clutch. Obviously this is a place that puts profit over people. The lack of sympathy is outstanding to me. So as I lay here suffering, I needed to write this review. Anyone who thinks they need a little therapy should not go here. It's like a physical therapy factory. I've canceled all my appointments. I will also tell my provider not to recommend this place. Please be careful if seeking this place. They will push and push and you will regret it later. Just wanted to warn people. Don't want you in my position. Also, please read top sentence regarding the reply at the bottom of this post.

Commonly Asked Questions & What to Expect During Your PT Treatment

Do I need to see a doctor first?

Thanks to direct access, we can see any patient without a referral from a doctor for an initial evaluation. If our therapists believe that physical therapy is a good option for your needs, we can work with you and your physician to obtain a prescription for continued care. If your diagnosis requires additional expertise, we can also refer you to a specialist to handle your care.

What do I need to bring to my first visit?

For your first visit, be sure to bring the following items:

  • Prescription for physical therapy from your referring physician (if applicable)
  • Government issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license)
  • Insurance card(s)
  • Patient forms, which can be downloaded from this site in PDF format. Print and fill out the forms completely and bring them during your first visit.
  • Patients who are minors (under 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for their first visit.

What should I wear to physical therapy?

Please wear or bring comfortable athletic/workout clothing to change into. This includes shorts or sweatpants, a t-shirt and sneakers. Your attire should also allow easy access to your injured area for treatment by your physical therapist.

What can I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, your therapist will perform a thorough examination, in which he or she will review your physician’s recommendations, examine the problem area, ask questions about your injury or pain, develop an effective treatment plan for rehabilitation, discuss their findings with you and answer any questions you may have. Your treatment plan may include hands-on, manual therapy, a customized exercise program, stretching and physical agents such as heat, ice, ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Your physical therapist may also recommend a home program to further assist in your treatment.

How long will my appointment take?

Your first appointment will typically last from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on your injury. Following appointments usually last between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the treatment. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your appointment for check-in and paperwork. You can also download our patient forms, which can be filled out beforehand and brought with to your appointment.

How often will I need to come?

The frequency of your treatment will depend on your physician’s prescription and the plan of care developed by your physical therapist. Most patients require treatment two to three times per week. The duration of treatment will depend on your injury and personal progress. Your physical therapist will discuss this with you following your initial exam and subsequently as you progress.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

If you are unable to attend an appointment, we require at least 24 hours' notice. However, we do understand than an occasional emergency or illness may arise, in which case you may have to cancel your appointment closer to your scheduled time.

Do you accept insurances? Will insurance cover my therapy?

We accept most major insurances including Medicare, Tricare and workers’ compensation plans. Before your initial visit, we will verify in and out of network benefits with your insurance company. The cost of therapy is determined by the benefits of your insurance plan, including the deductible and co-pay, or patient percentage. We are happy to check with your insurance company to determine the terms of your coverage. Payment for patient responsibility is due at the time of service.
