Thank you to the entire team at California Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy on Warner in Huntington Beach, California! From my first phone encounter to my current PT sessions, I continue to be thoroughly impressed with the positive culture and consistent care I receive. After receiving my PT orders, Alaa contacted me and was incredibly friendly and patient. He answered all my questions and scheduled my intake evaluation and second session. Upon arrival at my first appointment, Kasi at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and caring. She confirmed my PT paperwork with me and scheduled my follow-up sessions. Both Alaa and Kasi continually welcome me each time I arrive and say goodbye as I leave. Their positive energy is palpable. Chad, my primary physical therapist, has been exceptionally friendly, professional and thoughtful. I truly appreciate his kind spirit, attention to detail, and expertise. He consistently guides me through exercises that are appropriately challenging while also respecting my knowledge and limits. Chad has enabled me to return to my work as a part-time fitness instructor much sooner than I anticipated. His professionalism, positivity, care, and guidance have changed the trajectory of my recovery after a very challenging sequence of events in my life. I am beyond grateful to the entire team at California Rehabilitation and Sports Therapy and strongly recommend them to others! Thank you again for touching my life in profound ways!

Highly recommend! I’ve had such a great experience at this physical therapy office. Vivian, my PT, is incredibly knowledgeable and has helped me so much with my left knee and upper back. Thanks to her guidance and home exercises through an app, I am finally seeing real progress after years of ignoring the pain. Eruchi is always kind and supportive during sessions, and Ericka at the front desk makes scheduling and check-in so easy. I also love the welcoming environment, great music, and how genuinely happy everyone seems to be here.

My dad is a patient here and we highly, highly recommend getting your care here. Everyone is really kind and patient with the patients. Our PT is Nick and he was so gentle with my dad and offered lots of insight on my dad’s ailments. He explained in detail about what was happening and how each exercise would help. He is also really funny, but most of all empathetic. My dad felt like Nick really made a difference in his care and is completely motivated to do his exercises (when he wasn’t before!). BIG shout out to Nick for being an amazing PT! Greatly appreciate everything he’s done despite a language barrier between my dad and him, he still preserved and got through.

I’ve been coming to this location for a few years now. After trying several throughout Orange County, this one is clean, airy, spacious and the therapists I’ve met are knowledgeable, friendly and have the patients care and treatment as a priority. Im not listing the name of my current therapist only because it will be hard to get an appointment with my therapist if I do!

I have had the pleasure of coming here for the past couple months for physical therapists. I have been suffering from my lower back pain and sciatica, that pain affected to my hips and coming down to my legs. To start, Melody at the front desk always greats everyone with a kind sweet smile and make sure for patients all set up with their appointments, she was very nice in the beginning until my last therapy. I’m so impressed with Marissa! She is fantastic experience for Massages therapist, that helped my back a lot of better from pain.she is also compassionate towards her patients. Andrew was great! He is very friendly and pay attention to patients every exercise, he and his team worked together to make sure Patients are completed all exercises. Which I think is important attribute to have for anyone that works in medical fields. I really like This Rehabilitation & sports therapy clinic and highly recommend! if you live around the area.

Commonly Asked Questions & What to Expect During Your PT Treatment

Do I need to see a doctor first?

Thanks to direct access, we can see any patient without a referral from a doctor for an initial evaluation. If our therapists believe that physical therapy is a good option for your needs, we can work with you and your physician to obtain a prescription for continued care. If your diagnosis requires additional expertise, we can also refer you to a specialist to handle your care.

What do I need to bring to my first visit?

For your first visit, be sure to bring the following items:

  • Prescription for physical therapy from your referring physician (if applicable)
  • Government issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license)
  • Insurance card(s)
  • Patient forms, which can be downloaded from this site in PDF format. Print and fill out the forms completely and bring them during your first visit.
  • Patients who are minors (under 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for their first visit.

What should I wear to physical therapy?

Please wear or bring comfortable athletic/workout clothing to change into. This includes shorts or sweatpants, a t-shirt and sneakers. Your attire should also allow easy access to your injured area for treatment by your physical therapist.

What can I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, your therapist will perform a thorough examination, in which he or she will review your physician’s recommendations, examine the problem area, ask questions about your injury or pain, develop an effective treatment plan for rehabilitation, discuss their findings with you and answer any questions you may have. Your treatment plan may include hands-on, manual therapy, a customized exercise program, stretching and physical agents such as heat, ice, ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Your physical therapist may also recommend a home program to further assist in your treatment.

How long will my appointment take?

Your first appointment will typically last from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, depending on your injury. Following appointments usually last between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the treatment. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your appointment for check-in and paperwork. You can also download our patient forms, which can be filled out beforehand and brought with to your appointment.

How often will I need to come?

The frequency of your treatment will depend on your physician’s prescription and the plan of care developed by your physical therapist. Most patients require treatment two to three times per week. The duration of treatment will depend on your injury and personal progress. Your physical therapist will discuss this with you following your initial exam and subsequently as you progress.

What if I need to cancel an appointment?

If you are unable to attend an appointment, we require at least 24 hours' notice. However, we do understand than an occasional emergency or illness may arise, in which case you may have to cancel your appointment closer to your scheduled time.

Do you accept insurances? Will insurance cover my therapy?

We accept most major insurances including Medicare, Tricare and workers’ compensation plans. Before your initial visit, we will verify in and out of network benefits with your insurance company. The cost of therapy is determined by the benefits of your insurance plan, including the deductible and co-pay, or patient percentage. We are happy to check with your insurance company to determine the terms of your coverage. Payment for patient responsibility is due at the time of service.
